Total equipment downtime

Hi Experts

My client wants to capture total dowtime for equipment (either due to breakdown or due to planned/preventive maintenance).

Data can be captured easily for breakdown maintenance n for preventive maint if i go for notification generation with setting of breakdown indicator then my MTTR/MTBR data goes haywire.

In reply to similar post before, it was proposed to create notification with preventive downtime start and end dates n time, without setting the breakdown indicator, then to download data in excel sheet to calculate time difference. But client is interested in direct solution.

Kindly share if anybody has solution.

Thanx in advance

    Hi Ruhail,

This is a Change Management issue.

    There may be some solutions.

    1. Make notifications with diff codes & flag indicator for the resons get the reports vide IW29

2.Make stoppage codes under QS41 for cpatring reasons

Create Measuring Point for each equipment with down time as characteristics.Assign cat code to this measuring point.Provide system indicator for shift a,b,c if desired.

Ask to pepare measuring documents for each equipment, with diff cat codes. IK01,IK11,

    See reports in IK13,IK17 etc.

3.Develop a report with PP modules work centre confirmation data - equivalenet PM modules Eqipment notifiaction down time data.Show it in the required formats.

4.Develop a PP confirmation /down time report (custom based industry specific) as per requirements.

      Hi Ramesh

      Thanx for the reply

I thought of using solution no 1 given by you but still downtime time needs to be entered, apart from code, which wud eventually ruin my MTTR/MTBD data and if i go for creation of counters for the same then no way i can enter downtime interval( from time - to time). That leaves m ewith option of development only.

If anybody else has views, please share.

      Best Regards

If you want to capture the breakdown time only than instead of using the standard MMTR/MTBR report use standard order report IW29, make different notification type for preventive/breakdown and there you can take out the report for downtime of your equipment using selection of notification type and equipment.

      Hi Imran

Thanx for reply.....but u see the problem is that even after creating new notification type if i click breakdown indicator then my breakdown analysis as it comes from t codes mcjb/mcjc is hit with false data( these reports are meant for breakdown analysis, but because of selecting breakdown indicator in new notification type the preventive downtime wud also reflect in the reports).
