Hi gurus,
I am creating po with account assignemnt category U, but i am getting error message stating '"unknown account assignment is not defined for use here"
If i use account assignment category 'K', it asking me to enter cost center, i entered 160000, but here I am getting error message stating "Create account 400000 for 12.08.2008 as cost element in controlling area"
Can anyone please help me with this.

Hi,
Unknown account assignment is allowed with blanket POs ( Framework orders) but not with regular POs with account assignment category. So you have to use acct. assignment category K for a cost center procurement.
When you enter K, then you are doing costcenter accounting for which you have to enter cost center.
If you have costcenter and G/L account mapped then you will get the G/L when you enter cost center or else you have to enter G/L and cost center both. This is to make the system understand which accounts to hit.
In your case either you have to create a mapping for 400000 wiht your costcenter(you can see it in KS03). Cost element you can map in KA02 default account assignment. Or use other G/L whatever appropriate.
You cannot use 160000 which is a subledger account (reconcilation account) used for all vendors.

Sridhar

hi,
i think ur getting the message no ME 069 and set as error meaasage in default.
if u want to maintain as warning message ,
maintain new entries with ME 069
path: MM>ourchaasing>environment data>define attribute of system messages.

You cannot use 160000. Its a Reconcillation Account.
In Controlling Each GL account treats as One Cost Element.
Create the GL Account 400000 as Cost Element in KA01 with Valid From 01-04-2008 to Valid to 31.12.2999 and assign the Same to Cost Centre in OKB9 Trxn code.

Hi,
Account Assignment Category "U" (Unknown), in this case you do not have to specify any Account Assignment object for e.g. Cost Center and it is suggested to use "U" for Purchase requisitions
Now when you are using Account Assignment Category "K" (Cost Center) then you have to specify the Cost Element (400000) and Cost Center (160000)
And Create 400000 as Cost Element in KA01, here enter CElem category as "1" (Primary costs/cost-reducing revenues) and save then check in PO (you have to come out of the PO and then check)

I am creating po with account assignemnt category U, but i am getting error message stating '"unknown account assignment is not defined for use here"
That means the A/C category U can be used in the PR level not in the PO
If i use account assignment category 'K', it asking me to enter cost center, i entered 160000, but here I am getting error message stating "Create account 400000 for 12.08.2008 as cost element in controlling area"
That means the cost center is assigned to the g/l account 400000 which is not defined with cost element
so you can go to tcode KA01 and enter your cost center in cost element field and create. But make sure that if this for production system than you have to confirm with FI people first than create it but it is for test system thatn it's fine
the moment you create the cost element than go back to PO cretion.
