Hi People,
I have recently joined the integration space in SAP XI, I want to understand XI from the basics, I am very much unclear on the SLD, software components, software component versions, technical and business system concepts. Request you to please share me with forums and blogs relating to the same.
Thanks
Varun.

HI,
Please refer the explanation digram at
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/29/17647d028113439108ce1161263b6e/frameset.htm
In simple terms, A swc is associated with the product and product in turn is installed on a Technical system .
So SWC is associated with a product and same SWC can be associated with different products
One product can have multiple SWCV and the same SWCV can be assigned to multiple products. These are completely separate and there will be no problem is assigning to this SWCv to the new product and you wouldn't face any problem in product_1.

HI,
If you see the ABAP develoment. you need to store all your ABAP development under the Request, which will be used later for transporting it to Quality or Production....
Same way in XI, Integration Builder is based on Java Stack...so you need to have an common container where you can organise all related developments and deploy it.
See the conceptual explanation in

Thanks
Swarup
