Hi All,

What is recursiveness allowed in BOMs

Hi Anand,

While creating BOM if u tried the same component in item of BOM which is Header of the BOM that time u will get message as a BOM is recursive that is "A Bom is recursive if the product contains a component that has the same object no as the product".

When the component in the BOM is same as that of the header material then the BOM is called as recursive. Please let me know if you need any more info

hi, there is very big relation with MRP. i am sure it will create the issue ( i had one this time but with APO) not much explored with r/3 mrp...u chekc and let us know.

If the recursive BOM MRP is run, then u can see the fun...

just go aheafd with that.

it will be good to see the results, rather than someone explaination..

Hi,

There is no direct relation to MRP you get this message while creating BOM.

But when you run MRP it will give you expection message 69 Recursive BOM components possible.

Refer to SAP Note # 42891 & 839879.

Hi Anand,,

If the header BOM material same you are using as a component then BOM become Recursive.

If you create a recursive BOM, you must decide whether you want to allow recursiveness or delete the component that caused the recursiveness,

Two users create a material BOM at the same time. Each user enters the BOM header material entered by the other user as a component.

One user saves the BOM. When the second user tries to save the BOM, the system recognizes recursiveness and sets the recursive indicator. The second user sees an online message about the recursiveness.
