We currently use SAP Content Server (MaxDB) and have HANA 2.0 SP2 on all of our other systems (ECC, SRM, SOLMAN, etc) and I want to move off MaxDB to HANA for the content servers now as well.
I have searched around but to no avail on info/possibilites or future plans for it.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Chris
Hi all, Storing pdf or archiving pdf is very different. If you need to secure and retrieve exactly the same content thru SAP or any other web interface, then you need to archive. An archiving system calculate the footprint of the documents, log data on them, secure an access path, manage the acces security thru an authorization table and guarantee the check on document integrity everytime you access it. Many solutions exists for ECC and S4, for instance SAP Document Access by Opentext (SAP's salesbag) or SAP xECM by opentext (with rich experience in every meanings 😉 ) and some solution archive-as-a service in the cloud like stratow.com with their extranet or in API mode certification like NF461 or ISO 14641 can secure you

Hi Chris,
For that purpose you can make use of the YAC add-on, Your universal Archivelink Connector. It can connect SAP to any storage solution, and this includes of course a database. Once configured (something we do for you in this case), it will store attachments with their original filename and any kind of supplementary meta-data into HANA DB tables (or any other DB you would be interested to use).
YAC works for all types of attachments (SAPOffice, GOS, Archivelink, etc.) and in all screens (GUI, Fiori, GUIHtml, WebDynpro, etc.)

Hi Chris,
I am not sure whether you are interested to migrate to another SAP solution providing document storage functionality on HANA, but anyhow i am putting it out here 🙂
The option you can explore is to setup ILM Store on HANA which becomes your content repository. You can use it as any other content repository to store documents via HTTP. ILM Store will be a standalone Netweaver system which can connect to HANA via secondary DB connection and provide the above mentioned functionality. You can migrate the attachments to this content repository which will be stored on HANA. This would require to update the links in the source system, but that should be part of migration anyway.
Thanks and Regards,

Hi Chris,
At this moment, content server ONLY supports Maxdb.
