PLD

Hi All

How to link the Document Series name to Print Layout Designer

I had created the three Series, ex: - Series1, Series2, Series3.

Also created the PLDu2019s ex:- PLD1, PLD2, PLD3

My requirement is when the users selects the Series1, then PLD1 should be used and give the print out and so on for other series and PLD's

Please help me out to resolve

Regards

Shanker

    Hi Shanker,

    I believe there is even simpler solution to your issue, Instead of creating 3 different PLD just to display the Document Numbering series Name what i would suggest you is to is in one PLD itself you can make the PLD to display different Document Numbering Series Name depending o the series you have saved your Transaction.

    Firstly,

    lets consider you want display

    "ABC001" for Series1

    "PQR001" for Series2

    "XYZ001" for series3

    First create the Text fields by these names having one above the other.

    then Add the Database field which contains series number in the respective document consider field name is "F_100", then create 3 formula fields, then in the Formula Editor give the formula as

    "F_100=Series1(Series No)",

    "F_100=Series2(Series No)",

    "F_100=Series3(Series No)".

    Then link the text field which contains "ABC001" to the first formula field, do similarly to the rest.

    As you Link the field, out of the three text fields only the one which has true value will be displayed and always there will be only one Document Series

    I'm sure this will help you out in reducing creating extra PLD's.

      Dear Shreyas,

      I really appreciate your suggestions in using document series for a single pld.

      Similarly, I would like to use a pld which has two parts and wish to take print out as follows :-

      1) First page should not show the second part

      2) second and third page to show the second part

      Please give me the steps and commands to hide and take print outs accordingly.

      Asif

    PLD's can be set as default only for Users or Business Partners.

    I don't think so there is a possibility of setting PLD defaults based on Document Numberring.

    Shanker,

    Unfortunately it's not possible. You can try to create only one print layout and displaying different information depending on the series using some formulas. It can be a bit complicated depending on your exact needs but as you only have 3 different series it could worth to try.

    What is the exact difference between the 3 layouts?

    Regards,

    Nat
