How can we assign component batch in planned order? when i assign but not able to save.

Dear PP Masters,

I want to assign component batch in advanced before releasing of production order.

when i assign batch to BOM mtr in MD12. not save

Please suggest way so that i can assign batch to component of planned order and

after conversion of planned order to production order, i get ready-made batch assign to component,

When I go for Save Component of planned order "Save" Button is inactive

Message after save.

Old topic but I just had the same requirement.

Actually this is not possible in SAP Standard. If you really need to have it in MD11/12 you need to change several parts of the SAP Standard implementation.
What I found:

Enhancement to display the column by default in certain scenarios:
Include LM61QF18 Form ANALYSE_MDPMX_MDPML

MODIFICATION to make the column editable in certain secenarios:
E.g. you need to deactivated coding in Include LM61QO09 from ~ line 100 as it will always set the column read only unless BWTAR in table MBEW is <> ''

Finally you need to enhance a form MOVE_MDPMX_TO_MDSB used by function module VERAENDERN_PLANAUFTRAG to include the batch. E.g. implicit enhancement at the end of the form.

Make sure the developer knows what he is doing and also knows the application in order to restrict the changes to the processes where it's needed. This coding is not only used in MD11/12/13!!
