Each process run is getting added in provisioning queue

Hello Everyone,

I am using SAP IDM 8.0 and facing a strange issue now. Whenever we modify user or assign any privileges, modify/create plugins get added to provisioning queue and it doesn't process further.

I tried to call the process manually using uProvision internal function through on-demand job too but again it went to provisioning queue.

Please help.

Regards,

C Kumar

  • Hi.

Ok, so tasks are being added to the Provisioning Queue, but they do not move further? Have you done any upgrades/patches to IDM recently? Feels like a db update issue.

    Matt

  • Hello Matt,

Yes, the provisioning queue is getting stuck and it's not moving further. We haven't done any upgrades/patches to IDM recently.

The surprising part is that when I create a new dispatcher and assign it to pending task by removing the old one, it gets processed. However when I assign the same new dispatcher to all the tasks and remove the old one, again provisioning queue gets stuck.

  • Hello Matt,

Just to add I have received the following message in the dispatcher log.

I have gone through this post, however, didn't get the Per comments properly.

Looks like you're running out of some resource, most likely memory. Set up the Performance monitor to log available memory to see if there's a memory usage peak just before it stops processing. Also check that there's no Xms parameter on the java options that forces JVMs to allocate more memory than they need.

    Br,

    Chris

Could you please help to explain how I can set Performance Monitor to log available memory and where I need to check the memory usage. Please also guide what is Xms parameter and where I need to check this.

    Regards,

    C Kumar

    Hi Chandan,

Is this a new installation. Or if this is happening post patch update or some activity.

Recommend to check whether dispatchers are mapped to the tasks inside the process. If mapped, whether they are enabled for provisioning.

    • Hello Ganesh,

No, it's not a new installation and we haven't done any upgrade/patch update recently.

Dispatchers are mapped to each of these tasks and enabled for provisioning too.
