Hi All,

We have installed Mobile Development Workbench and are able to log into Mobile Application Studio.

Are there any post-installation tasks or configuration tasks that need to be performed before doing modifications to the Mobile sales application? Please advice.

Advance Thanks for all the help.

Thanks.

Hi,

at least you need to reserve/define a customer name space (Y or Z). This is done via CustNSP.exe or somewhere inside the studio (I don't have access to a 2007 system).

Then you need to define your generation settings e.g. generating "MobileSalesApplication" as "MSA". This is also used as your work area when opening the studio.

Hi Wolfhard,

Thanks for the response.

Following activities were performed after installing the MRS and MDW.

1. Installed the transport component on MRS and MDW.

2. Created a user account for the Transport Agent of MAR.

3. Assigned the MAR ID in the CRM system.

4. Registered the customer namespace in MAR.

5. Logged into MAS, created a changelist.

6. For Generator Settings, in Business Logic we mentioned project as "sfabol" and Industry template as "IT consumer Goods". In UI we mentioned "MobileSales" as the UI application.

7. Later we generated the Mobile Sales appication.

I am new to MAS and haven't worked on this earlier. Please let me know if I missed anything in the above activities.

Can I start modifying the application after generation?

Please help.

P.S: We are on MSA 5.0 SP04.

Thanks.

Hi,

step 1 - 3 is only needed later on when you are going to send the CLs to CRM or send run time files to the particular clients via MW.

The most important thing is to search for and apply all (binary) patches which are mentioned in the regarding collection note. Normally there are fixes for design time (MDW), run time (MSA) and data transfer (MSA).

The application which you already generated right now should have the standard behaviour as you didn't make changes so far. Now you are able to do your designed changes.

Regards,

Wolfhard
