Dear Experts,
When i create a sales order , Can i stop the ATP calculation to avoid future schedules.
EG;
My on-hand quantity is 100. The user creates a sales order for 120 quantity. The system creates 2 schedule lines . 1 for confirmed qty of 100 and the second line for future date of 20 qty.
My requirement in such scenarios is to inform user that the Sales order cannot be created since the order qty is not available on -hand.
Appreciate, if you can let me know whether this can be achieved. If yes.. then how ?
Thanks
Kuna

If it's the actual user (CSR) creating the order then what should normally happen is they would see the availability and at that point they can advise the customer about the availability dates. If the customer does not want to wait then CSR would just change the quantity to what's already available. But if the customer wants to wait then why lose their business?
If you're going to "inform user that the Sales order cannot be created" what are you expecting them to do exactly? Just tell the customer: "ah, sorry, can't save your order"? That's just silly.

It seems, the subject text differs from your post. Ideally, creation of sale order should not prevented in SAP. What you can consider is once the sale order is saved, both the order quantity and confirmed quantity would be stored in VBEP table. So there are many ways to trigger mail once the sale order is saved. Search SCN or Google and take the inputs from there. The mail content can display the Sold To, Material, order quantity and confirmed quantity. The concerned team who takes care of planning, can take a call whether to consider the order or not. If not, they just set Reason for Rejection at line item level, so that, it would not be considered for ATP / MRP. Later once the stock is made available, the reason for rejection can be removed and do goods issue.
