MRP Data in Material Master

Dear all,

In material master we have maintain the

MRP Type : ZB, Rorder point as 100

Lot size : FX

Fixed Lot Size : 500

Now with these setting is possible that system creates the PR for individual material say for quantity say 2.

If the required quantity is 100 how PR will generated?

I want the system to give the Gross level PR only not individual PR.

How can achieve this?

Hi,

If your stock level falls below 100 as you have mentioned Reorder point, the system will create the PR for 500 qty as Fixed lot size is 500.

Hi,

MRP is mainly configured for a material so that tere would not be any need for manual checking of the stock so as to create a PR.

The parameters which you have specified for a particular material like reorder point and lot size will help in planning for a particular material.

If you need only Qty of two (Less) then there s no need of configuring a MRP for that material

And lot size is also decided basing on certain other factors like

1) Lead time

2) Transportation costs involved in procuring the material etc

So ifyou want to generate PR for a qty of 100 then you need ot change the lot size

Hi,

Reorder Point is 100

You have Lot size as FX (Fixed) --> 500

However your stock level is below reorder point (100) PR will generate for 500qty...then your stock will update with stock qty (Earlier)+500.

If you want to generate 100 PR's only... you have to change the Fixed Lot Size as 100 from 500 then you can acheive your target

hi,

We maintain the our Reorder point as well lot size so as to provide the system some details to hit the procurement to generate the PR's....

Also we donot use MRP if the req. to generate PR's for very small qty (yes can be done, but not recommended)...

Now,

As per your provided details,

the PRs will be always generated for 500 qty only...as given in the lot size..
