NCo 3.0 planned end of life

Former Member

As of note 856863, end of life for NCo 3.0 (.NET 4.0 variants) it's planned for December 31st, 2020.

Does this mean that the product will be discontinued, does SAP plan a new version of NCO or does SAP will replace this technology with other integration scenario like SOAP/REST ODATA or other ?

Dear Emanuele,

Hope you are doing good.
Although the end date is set to 2020, there are many products that rely on connector for Microsoft .NET. So I don't think 3.0 will go anytime soon.

Please keep checking PAM and SAP Note 856863 as it will be updated with all latest info.

Hope this helps.

Hello Hemanth Kumar,

sorry to restart the conversation after one year.

The support end date of the NCO 4.0 variant of NCO 3.0 is still December 2020 (by the way, what means "the .NET 4.0 variant support will be offered until December 31, 2020"?)

Should we rewrite our .NET RFC clients (C# in my case) to C/C++ with the new SAP Netweaver RFC SDK?

Are there any official news about SAP product strategy?

Thanks a lot.

Sandra

Hi Hemanth,

We currently have a lot of infrastructure in place that utilizes the NCo 3.0 and C#. As of today, in SAP Note 856863, I still see the reference to support ending at the end of 2020, but nothing more. So that we can plan accordingly, will there be any more releases of the NCo and if not, is there a migration path for what .NET developers should be moving to?

Thanks,

Jim

Currently maintenance and support for NCo 3.0 is set to end by EOY 2022. Given that this seems to only receive extension on a year by year basis, is there any future direction concerning its use?

Should adoption of this connector be discouraged for new projects?

This post has been a while now, but EOY 2022 is fast approaching. There is still no official word. There is also no official support for .net core, .net 5, or .net 6.

I really hope SAP will release an official word soon.
