DB2 not able to connect (0012)

Suddenly I had started to face " Not able to connect database,session terminated " from SAPGUI ,so I stopped the SID and started it again now the dispatcher turns into gray colour and I Could not do login.

I ran r3trans -d

please check your environment.

dbms_type=db6

must be set to run a DB2 LUW system.

before license problem the system was working fine..since the license got expired then applied it ,this problem started to come in r3trans -d.

Hi,

I can not believe that the licensing problem has been your only problem. Thre must have been other changes to your system.

Without "dbms_type=db6" SAP executables that connect to the database are not able to load the DBSL shared library "db<dbms_type>slib." that matches your database platform. "dbdb6sib." is found either in the current working directory or in the directory specified by DIR_LIBRARY .

My doubt is, how it would work earlier without this enviroinment variable.

Hi,

I do not know if this will solve your problem because something changed on your system.

The change is not directly related to the licensing issue.

Typically dbms_type is set in the logon scripts of your <sid>adm user. Somehow those logon scripts are not executed correctly. Did you change for example the hostname? The logon scripts are located in the home directory and are named ".dbenv_<hostname>.*sh" . They are only executed at logon time if the current hostname matches.
