Indian Schema, Function & Rule for calculation of Payroll

Dear Team,

We are in process of implementing the sap Indian payroll( country code =40) , we have created the wage type (earning wage, Deduction, Dummy wage type) and set all the attribute.

For payroll process, we require the Schema (IN00), function PCR etc.

Please suggest how to go ahead about schema, function & rule.

Hi Aman,

we have created the wage type

Basic salary (Wage Type 1001)= xxxxxx (Amount)

HRA (Wage Type 1002)= xxxxxx (Amount)

Special Allowance (Wage Type 1003)= xxxxxx (Amount)

we would like to know how to configure / customise the PCR for monthly calculation purpose OR

how the system read the wage type.

Hi Rakesh,

Configuring the payroll schema is a business-dependent decision. How you should customize it, entirely depends on your Business Users' requirements. If you have a specific question about a PCR or a function, then we can provide you more help, but I think you should first consult your business users regarding their requirements, then check the documentation of PY-IN functions in PE04 to see if all of the requirements can be met by just using the default functions and PCRs or not.

I don't know anything about Payroll for India, but base on my experience with Payroll for Canada, you'll first have to look at what was configured and how, such as Third Party Remittances, Transfer to FI-CO, which Model WTs were used to create your Custom WTs, WTs with Balance and Totals, etc...

Have you taken the time to look at the documentation available online, such as help.sap.com, the SAP HCM Payroll Wiki page of this site, and the many discussion threads on this subject?

Hi Rakesh,

Can you please specify what exactly you need to know about Payroll-India schema and functions? If you need to know the names, then you can follow the following steps:

1. Schema - IN00. You can check this in PE01.

2. Functions - All PY-IN functions begin with the string "IN", so you can search for IN* in PE04 to see a list of all PY-IN functions.
