Hi Experts,

We will be using MDG 9.1 on top of ECC for Customer and Vendor. Now, at this moment the client doesnt use the BP concept. But they want to implement BP down the road. . Now ,if we implement ERP like UI for Customer and Vendor, we will have to change it to BP UI when BP gets implemented. Rework!!

So, what my question is, can I use the BP like UI for Customer and Vendor, for now, even though BP setting like CVI will not be set up in the system..?

Thanks,

Saikat

Hi Saikat,

SAP offers Supplier/Customer UI on the concept of BP. There is a layer of BP on top of your Vendor/Customer. Just for simplicity, they have offered "ERP Like UIs" (eg: Vendor Like UI / Customer like UI). It is just the skin and some limited functionality. However in both the cases CVI is needed and BP gets created along with subsequent Vendor/Customer.

It doesn't matter if your underlying system is ECC or S/4, the concept remains the same. You will be getting BP out of a Vendor/Customer.

Go through some of the blogs on this concept that would surely help in understanding.

Cheers,

Rohit

Hi,

reg. There is a layer of BP on top of your Vendor/Customer.

It's better to re-phrase as: the BP is the leading object in MDG. You cannot have any customer/vendor w/o having the BP created. Therefore CVI is mandatory, at least in the directions BP to Customer/Vendor.

Best regards

Michael

Hi Michael,

Agreed. It is indeed the leading object in MDG for Supplier/Customer.Thanks for pointing that out.

Somehow I still use the terminology of "layer" for explanation.
