PO - GL Account Field - display only

Hi,

Please could you advise on the options for making G/L Account field display only in ME21n?

I think there are probably a few ways of doing it which I am investigating, but would like your opinion and advice if possible.

Create the transaction variant for me23n with SHd0 and display option for few users can be control with authorization.

I tried to create a transaction variant for ME21n, but i couldn't see how to make the GL field display only. I went to SHD0 to create the variant, but once I was in the transaction (ME21n) I couldnt work out how I would make any of the fields display only. I've had a search on the forums, but didnt find anything too helpful.

Also would I be able create such a variant on a role basis, rather than for specific users?

Any advice?

Hi,

Hope you are doing cost center accouting with account assignment K while creating PO

Then go to MM --> Purchasing --> Account assignment --> Maintain account assignment category _-> Select cost center K --> Change view account assignment details you can

make G L account as mand or optional or display or hidden.

Thanks Sridhar. Forgot to mention in my previous post that we would like to made the field display only on a User or Role basis?

I dont think this is possible as standard using your suggestion? Any other advice?

So to summarise the requirement is as follows:

User A creates ECC PO but cannot change defaulted GL account

User B creates ECC PO and can change GL account
