Is there a workflow for Substitution ?

Is there a workflow for Substitution in workplace?

how can I maintain the selective substitution .

i.e. for one BO it should substitute while for other it should not .

for example . For leave approval there should be a substitution . while in case of appraisal where its not logical for someone else to make the decision there should be no substitution .

please suggest .

thanks

Naval .

    Naval,

You can do this with classification and substitution profiles. I.e.

    Tasks are assigned to classes

Classes are assigned to substitution profile

Users can define substitute for a specific substitution profile (rather than for their entire inbox).

For further info look at the online help http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c5/e4b5eb453d11d189430000e829fbbd/content.htm

    or search this forum.

You have to first create classification.

    SPRO->SAP Web application Server->Business Management->SAP Business Workflow->Basic Settings->Maintain Task Classes

SPRO->SAP Web application Server->Business Management->SAP Business Workflow->Basic Settings->Substitute Profile->Define Substitute. Here link substiutute with Classification.

In the Task Attribute you should assign Classification using Task Attribute.

Use the Substitute profile while substitution is made.

    Thanks

In our case the substitute has the authorization to work on the same kind of task ... as he has to approve the appraisal of his subordinates ... that's why i think the profile cant be used ...

or even if we use it wont work fine as the substitute will still get the task as he has the authorization of executing that task ...

can you please explain ...can we just add the task to the profile so that for that particular task(or workflow) there should not be any substitution ..
