Crystal Viewer v9

Former Member

Not sure if this question belongs here... but

We have an application that calls Crystal Reports to be displayed in a browser using the viewer for Crystal 9. These reports have been displaying fine for several years but on Monday the reports come up blank on the viewer with no data returned. This is, the Preview area is white and where the report should be displayed is grey. No data, column heading, etc. We have about 10 of these reports and they are all now exhibiting this strange behavior.

Does anyone have any idea of why this would suddenly stop working?

Thank you.

Roger

Please re-post if this is still an issue to the Legacy Application Development SDKs Forum or purchase a case and have a dedicated support engineer work with you directly

Try with this:

Might be reports are loosing database connection.

Update your database from Database -> Set Datasource Location.

Now browse your reports from application.

Hope this helps!!

in version 9 where you set you db location, you may need to set your overridden qualified table name to maintain the db connection. thats a bug in 9

I appreciate your response, but it didn't help.

Thank you.

What value would I place there? The name of the report?

Thank you.

you would enter the table name or the stored procedure name.

when you click down the table name youll see a node for overridden qualified table name. its where you set location

Thanks Sharon. I found it and put in the name of the procedure but that still didn't resolve the issue. It's just strange that this started happening on Monday and there weren't any changes to the working environment.
