Dear Gurus:
I've a question which I cannot find answer too...yet
I have a MES that only "checks" SAP at the beginning to see the work order and at the end of the process to confirm quantities completed against the work order. If I have a production order for 100u (serialized main components, the system gives a lifetime identity for traceability) and confirm completion for 95u, but I still have 5u unfinished that I'll be reviewing sometime. In the MES I'll be moving the 5u as WIP to a location designated for this where it could take months to review. My problem is that this production order is kept open in SAP for the unconfirmed quantity, and management doesn't want to take TECO or take any scrap variance until reviewed. Is there any way that I can make the SAP production order invisible for MRP purposes? There are a lot of open orders that are affecting my Plan order suggestions.
* Manufacturing is planning to work on these units, but it could take time.
Regards,
George
Hello George
In ECC, you can define that a specific storage location is not relevant to MRP in tab MRP4 of the material master. In S/4HANA this feature no longer exists and you need to create a storage location MRP Area to segregate those orders.

Hi Caetano,
Thanks for your fast reply. My question would be, as I understand the only checks SAP does is at the beginning of the process and the end of it where it confirms. Through the manufacturing process it will stay on the manufacturing location as WIP. Does that make sense? I'm really not an expert on the process yet.
Regards,
George
