Custom Fields in DPR Table view is not getting saved in backend.

Hi all,

I have created some custom fields in DPR_TASK table. We have enhanced the DPR_TABLE WD component to display the custom fields and provided OVS search help for the fields in Table View.

But when we add some values and save the data, the same is getting disappeared in screen. Should this be handled manually through additional code logic?

Also please note that we also have a custom tab in Project structure view to display all these custom fields.

We are using SAP PPM 6.1 system.

regards,

Dev

Hello Dev,

If you add the custom fields to the table view via the steps which are described in SAP note Nr. 972339 it should not be necessary to implement any custom code to save the field contents to the backend.

Hi Francesco,

Thanks for the quick turn-around.

We have followed the same approach.I have added OVS search help for 1 field based on which i am populating the remaining fields.

Here are the steps that i follow:

1. I open the task in Structure view and look at any tabs.

2. Navigate to Table view and use OVS to populate the custom fields and click on SAVE button. The values gets erased and the custom fields are not updated.

Please let me know if we are missing some steps here.

Hello Dev,

This is not an issue I am aware of. To simplify further analysis I would suggest that you check if the same works if you use a custom field which is populated manually (as opposed to a custom field which is associated with a search help). In case that does not bring any insights, then I would suggest you place an incidents with SAP Support so that someone can check this on your system.

Hi Franceso,

Sorry what you suggested is the right approach. It seems there was some custom logic written in Task WD component that was over-writing the new values from the Table View. That logic has been fixed and now the Table view is working as expected.

Appreciate your help here.
