Connecting to Nexmo REST API

Hi,

I am currently working on a project that uses Nexmo REST API to send sms. We are using the Nexmo Java library for this.

During our testing, I am getting connection timeout issues when the library connects to Nexmo. I have an assumption that this is a security constraint. Pardon my little knowledge of SAP CP. I have read that for remote connectivity requirements, I can utilize SAP Connectivity Services by creating destinations. In this case I'm assuming that I need an HttpDestination defined.

I am hesitant to go with this approach since we are already using Nexmo's Java library. Can someone help me out and point me to the right documentations that I need to check?

Thanks in advance!

    Dear Arjay,

You can find methods on the SAP Cloud Platform Connectivity Online Help:

    https://help.sap.com/viewer/cca91383641e40ffbe03bdc78f00f681/Cloud/en-US/b068356dd7c34cf7ad6b6023deeb317d.html

This part describes exactly the HTTP Destinations and how to configure them. Probably it can be helpful for your scenario as well.

    Hi Arjay

The Nexmo Java API connects directly to their service URLs, and that won't work in SCP. As you rightly point out, you need to go through SCP's Connectivity service. The Nexmo API Java source is available, though, so you could actually change it to use the SCP Connectivity classes. Alternatively, you could write your own, simpler library specifically wrapping the SMS REST service and going through a Destination.

    Regards,

    Morten
