What are Legs of a Route?

Hi all!

When assigning a route in shipment I get this message:

Route <route code> has no valid legs

What are legs and where do I maintain it?

Thanks!

    Hai

    A Route will have stages

    .

The stages are connected by legs

The means of transport can differ within stages

E.G Suppose if you are shipping a material to a customer in Dubai from Pune ,Route covers the entire distance between Pune and Dubai

From you shipping pt in Pune to railway station in Pune and from there thro Rail to Mumbai From there thro sea to Dubai

In this case the stages are Shipping pt . Pune railway staton,Mumbai station. Mumbai port and Dubai port.

The distance between two stages are connected by LEGS

From shipping pt to Pune railway station Means of transport wii be Truck From there it will be Rail and again it will Truck to Mumbai port and there it is by ship to Dubai

I hope that i have thrown some light on your query

    Regards

    raja
