Enabling TLS 1.2 in SAP PI 7.1

Hi Experts,

Our bank partner is going to enable TLS 1.2 at his end and suggested us to implement the same for smooth connectivity. Need to know

1) If i enable TLS 1.2 at my end, will it affect our other web service customers.

2) Is there any check list which we need look into before proceeding.

They have already implemented it in their UAT server. While connecting their UAT we are receiving Handhsake error.

Hi Rajesh,

1. Other outbound connections (from PI) won't be affected, as long as the Minimum Supported SSL version (see below notes) is not changed.
2. Since you are talking about PI 7.1, there are ABAP-based adapters (like HTTP, WS, etc) , and JAVA-based adapters (like SOAP).

• If it's ABAP based adapter, see note 510007 - Setting up SSL on Application Server ABAP
• If it's Java based adapter, see note 2284059 - Update of SSL library within NW Java server
• Specifically, in case of SOAP Axis adapter, see note 2292139 - TLSv1.2 support in Axis adapter

Hi Haribabu,

For outbound SOAP Receiver Adapter connections, you will need (minimum) note 2284059 Update of SSL library within NW Java server. As you can see, new security features are not possible with very old releases/SP's. You will need to update the SPS, at a minimum.

We are using SAP PI 7.11 SP06 PL10 and we are having same issue between PI to Web apache for SOAP after change done by Apache team with TLS 1.2.

what would be the solution? or update the PL as Tom: Specifically, in case of SOAP Axis adapter, see note 2292139 - TLSv1.2 support in Axis adapter
