Inventory for Bags

Hi Mentors

I have requirement of Inventory of empty bags.

My client want to maintain the inventory for empty bags that we will along with the raw material (powder)

1 tone powder - get one bag

*My business process:*

First we will make PR-PO-INBOUND delivery-MIGO- GI to consumption. there i want know the empty bags inventory.

so please suggest me how i can map this in SAP

Hi

U can try creating the bags as a nonvaluated material and include in PO - take in to inventory - and while issuing - also u can include it in MB1A

Hi Laxman,

There are two ways

1) Build & Track Inventory while procuring material from Vendor. (i.e. from MIGO onwards)

2) Build & Track Inventory from Production onwards

1) from MIGO onwards

. MM01 Create Material (Say X), Material type: LEIH

. ME21N Raise PO to Vendor for raw material (Say Y) (Here no need to consider X material )

. MIGO Prepare GR for X + Y (While preapring MIGO Press ' Transport Equipment' button, last button in the row mid of screen)

First line item will be for material Y (raw mat.)

Second line will be for material X (Empty Bag)

If you want to 'Batch Management' then one row for each batch will take place.

Here automatic Mov.Type will 501 M will set (Ensure it)

. MB51, Tick Special Stock, Inventory will be shown against particular Vendor (Benefit: Vendor wise Stock will be managed)

. MB11/MIGO, Mov.Type 311 M Transfer Bags X to production (While issuing raw material Y)

. MIGO, 512 M Finally Return material to Vendor

. Stock of Bags will be On-line at each stage

2) from Production onwards

. MM01 Create Material (Say X), Material type: LEIH

. CS02 Modify BOM of FG, Enter Bags X into it with negative sign (ex: 10-)

. COR6N While confirming production phase, inventory will be generated (by 531 mov. type)

. Finally return it to vendor.

1st process will keep end-to-end track.

It depends upon upto which level you want to implement it.

Hi,

MM01 - Create Material Master or Empty bags

Maintain Empty Bags in BOM of the product as a by-product with -ve quantity

At the time of Goods Issue against Production Order (in MIGO), goods issue of Raw materials will be done via 261 and Empty bags will be received via 531 movement. here change the quantity of Empty bags as per requirement.

If the above method doesn't suit then only following procedure remains;

MIGO - Goods Receipt > Others (Receive Empty Bags via movement type "202" from "Production" Cost Center)

material and quantity, etc...

I got your point. I don't want to return from production. i want know the qty of bags lying in production.

suppose i goods issue 100 tons to production so my bags stock is 100 bags

i hope u understand

My requirement is suppose i am creating the po of my raw material

1one tone raw material equal to 1 bag

any possibility is there to pick the bags automatically based on the qty.

and same in GR AND GI also

Hi,

When you do Goods Receipt against PO of Raw Material in MIGO

Then after entering all the details of the Raw material, click on New Items button (Like Plus icon)

And add the material code of Bag, quantity, plant, storage location, etc...

And Post GR, it will update the stock of Raw material as well as Bags also.

Then go for Goods Issue using movement type "201" against Cost Center in MB1A or MIGO.

Also if you want to track the stock of material in bags then create enter alternative UoM as Bag in Material master and maintain 1 Bag = 10 TON in material master. And you can see the stock of Raw material in TON as well as BAG in MMBE.

Hi

I think automatic picking is not possible in purchasing. You can also maintain the alternate unit of measure as bag in material master for the raw material, and procure the material as bags (purchasing unit) but this will only help you in viewing the stock existing in unit bag! and the rest remain the same as I said earlier.

I think you are not well aware of MIGO transaction

When you are in MIGO, then below "Item Details" screen, you can see 2 arrows just click on 2nd arrow before "Item OK" indicator and then maintain all the details.

While doing a GR with respect to a Purchase order is it possible to add a new line item (which is not there in the PO)? I don't think so. But if there is a way I would like to know that.

Hi Rao,

When you enter Po and press enter, it copies all the details from PO

You get list of buttons between Item Overview and Item Details like; Delete, Content, etc...

There you will get a button as "New Items" (on 2nd last position) just before RTP Transport Equipment button, just click on that, it will provide you option to enter material, quantity, plant, storage location, etc... manually and GR it.

Hi Pankaj

I enter 2 nd line item as a empty bags as per your method.But in the same line special stock type option is there. i have to must enter that then only document saving.

if i select there returnable package stock is showing only RT packeing. not showing in sto.loc wise.

so when iam issuing stock to production same method document is not saving error is Stock defecit -100 for pant 1000 sto.lco.1001.

material i created as Unvaluated material ( UNBW)

pls give me reply.

I did GR and GI as per your method. Adding the bags with plus sign.

if i check Line two (bags) in mmbe stock is showing fine.

But, my first line ( raw material) not coming to stock. what is the problem.

Default my stock is coming to quality first after inspection stock move to used stock.(MIGO)

Now what can i do. pls help me. i am near.

It should come, check whether you have deselected "Item OK" indicator for the Raw Material line item in MIGO.

If i not select ok button system not allowed to save. i checked it is there.

If i add second item (bags) then first item not coming to stock.

otherwise, normal. updating the stock

Sorry my material default not updating the GR but GI working fine.

Thanks very much for your valiable answers. Now i am able to control the bags manually.( means i have to enter MIGO time )

If any posibility, that requirement fully automation.

we are not using BOM.s

Other then Bom's any posibility ?
