Problems in Bids

Hi,

Working with SRM 5.0 & ECC 6.o

I have created BId Invitations and published the same .

The bidders could logon and submit Bid responses and I could see in the Purchaser Login.I am facing the following issues:

1) Bid comparison is not possible.NO error is displayed. The system just keeps on working RZ 20 also does not display any errors, but I do not get any response.

2)Even after rejecting the Bid responses, expectation is that the create PO/Contract Tab shall grey out and it does not happen.I'm sure this is not the designed behaviour or some more settings need to be done?

3)For making the surrogate bid to work what settings are required?

4) Is it possible to configure a two bid response to the Bid invitation which involves the Technical Bid & Price Bid to be submitted ,but only the Price Bids of the shortlisted Bidders are opened/checked?

Any inputs/ Any body has faced such issues, may pl put in their comments, links, literature etc?

Thanks & Regards,

Nagarajan

Hi,

1. Please go through the note 846797 and make changes to the server profile parameters. For this you pl take help from basis guys. You have to change the parameter ztta/diag_area and set the value to 500000.

2. We do not have to make any special settings. By default for rejected bids, we can not create any follow on docs.

3. In manage business partners under bidder data check the proxy bidding allowed check box to allow surrogate bidding.

4. For dual bidding process of technical and commercial bidding, you can make use of the create follow on bid invitation functionality. In this in the first bid invitation solicit technical bids and the short listed bidders can be called for commercial round by creating follow on bid invitaion.

Hope this clarifies your doubts.

Hi,

Thanks for all that.

But my client wants the Technical and the Price Bids to come in same instance .In other words, they want to have both the Bids submitted by all the Bidders and after teh shortlisting of the Technical evaluation would check the Price bids of the qualified Bidders only.

I don't think this is a Std Functionality.

Any thoughts on this Please?

Thanks & Regards,

think with C-folder linked to the bidding engine you can map this.

Hi,

Are you suggesting that the Technical Bids can be put in the C folder of the Bidder and then evaluated?

Can you elaborate further?

Thanks & Regards,

**************************************************************************************************************************************************************

The purchaser creates a bid invitation in SAP Bidding Engine and then creates a collaboration for that bid invitation. The purchaser can do this under Collaboration in the Documents area of the Header data tab page in SAP Bidding Engine. When the purchaser chooses Create, a folder is set up automatically in a public area in cFolders, as part of the competitive scenario.

It is important at this point to save the bid invitation by choosing Held. If the bid invitation is not saved and subsequently gets lost, the link to the folder in cFolders will also be lost and you will be unable to retrieve it.

The purchaser goes to the collaboration in cFolders and invites the engineers on the purchasing side to place all the relevant design and specification information in the folder for potential bidders to view. Only the purchasing side can make changes to the public area of the folder.

When potential bidders access a bid invitation, they can see under Collaboration on the tab page Purchaser Information whether or not a folder has been created for that bid invitation. If it has, they can follow the link to the folder in the public area in cFolders, view the project information, and decide whether they wish to submit a bid.

Once a bidder chooses Create bid, a private area is created automatically in cFolders and all the data is copied from the public area to the private area.

In this private area, bidders can place all the information surrounding their offer, and revise and update it at any time.

The purchasing side determines a winning bid.

All project participants on both the purchasing and supply sides can access the work area in cFolders, and add to and correct the data until all parties have agreed on the final and binding specifications. Methods for working together include:

1. Documents

2. Bookmarks

3. Data sheets

4. Discussions forums

The link to cFolders is included in the bid and also in the follow-on purchase order or contract. The collaboration area remains open, allowing the purchaser and the supplier to fine-tune the design documents even after the winning bid has been determined.

Hi Naga

Answer 1:- There are many reasons discussed in these notes bid comparision issues. You may get some idea and could diagonise the problem but all are in lower version of srm

846797 - Bid comparison: no data displayed

943988 - The Bid Comparison BAdI

883997 - Bid comparison: Questions and answers

1054006 - BBP_BID_EVAL:STEP function in Bid comparison is incorrect

943849 - Bid Comparison: no price bid invitations and same value

790829 - Comparison of bids: Unit displayed

785194 - Comparison of bids: Call from bid not possible

Answer3:-

Surrogate Bidding

Purchasers can enter a bid on behalf of a bidder. For example, if the bidder is not able to access the system, they can contact the purchaser, who then enters the bid on behalf of the bidder.

To do this, the purchaser goes into the transaction Process Bid as Substitute, searches for a contact person and creates the bid for the bid invitation in question.

The purchaser can also bid as substitute within an existing bid invitation by using the Bid as Substitute functions provided in the bidder list.

To bid as substitute, the purchaser must have authorization for transaction BBP_QUOT_BOB. The first authorization level enables the purchaser to create new bids; the second authorization level enables the purchaser to change submitted bids, as well as create new bids.
