HCP Project Landscape.

Hi,

We are developing an application fully on HCP with the persistence in HCP itself.

What is the advisable DEV/QAS/PROD model to follow? We have only one DB allocated with 32 GB memory, it is neither delete able or modifiable to split the DB.

Also MDC is not enabled in the HCP HANA instance. Are these features controlled by SAP HCP team or will it be available to users on request?

In the trial account there was provision to create MDC containers for the DB but we dint have a separate instance allocated ( understandable since it is trial)

But in the licensed HCP account only one HANA instance without MDC is provided. This stops us from creating DEV/QA environments.

Hello Vyas,

to get a general understanding how DEV/QA/PROD HCP landscapes can/should be set up, I recommend to read the post Understanding HCP Global Accounts and Sub-Accounts and what this concept means to corporate HCP arch....

Regarding the question for HANA MDC in a productive environment, please check the online help (Databases and Database Systems). HANA MDC is available as "beta" feature. An HANA MDC system has to be ordered.

Thanks Florian for the information,

Understood how the DEV/QA and PROD is done. But in my case, there is a 32 GB instance of HANA allocated to the Global account. I am able to split the java quota among the sub accounts but I am not able to reduce the DB memory in the main sub account and create a separate DB instance another account. !

Say I have a Database System with 32GB allocated.

I am able to provide access to other accounts (sub accounts ) to access the DB but Not able to reduce the memory allocation to split the DB into two.

The Database system is one. But I should be able to create more Databases under the database system which I am not able to.

only ASE appears as an option. Assuming this is because the entire memory is already occupied by the one DB, how can I reduce the DB memory to provision more DBs

Thanks,

Vyas
