Disclosure Management: consistency validations Solvency Reporting

Former Member

Hi everyone,

As you know for Solvency II Reporting, the validation button of DM creates an excel with two sheets, one for "Consistency and Type Errors" and the other one for "Formula Validation Report". The list of validation formula can be downloaded from the EIOPA website but the question is: does anyone know where I can find the full list about consistency validations?

Thank you,

best regards

Hi Daniela

Consistency checks are not something that are published by regulators (EBA, EIOPA etc.)

These checks are more at system level, and there are mainly 2 types

- data type checks, i.e. if the data-type is 'monetary' you cannot provide a string value

- ambiguous data, i.e. the same fact has 2 different values (e.g. this is possible if you have a value $200 in one cell, but then (in another sheet) you have values $100, $50, $45 and the sum of these values is the same fact. The system has now 2 different (ambiguous) values of $200 and $195 and does not know which is the correct one. Ambiguous values are never included in the XBRL instance
