Statistical Cost Elements for Project related Accounts (WIP)

Hi All,

I want to create statistical cost elements for WIP related accounts which are used for Projects with cost element category 90. I am able to create the same for inventory accounts but while creating for WIP accounts, it shows an error as "Account is a Balance Sheet Item". I am trying to create these through T Code - KA02 as well as through OKB2 (Mass Creation).

Can any one sugget me to how to create S statistical Cost Elements for WIP (Balance Sheet) accounts.

Hi Jigar,

While I am trying to create the statistical cost elements for WIP accounts through OKA7, it displays only the asset related accounts. The list doesn't contain any other GL accounts other than Asset Accounts.

Is there any other way to deal this?

Hi,

Through this transaction, you can only create the cost elements for Asset Account.

Yes Jigar, you are right. We can create cost elements only for Asset Accounts through T code OAK7.

Can you suggest me for creation of Cost Elements for WIP accounts.

Hi,

Go to FS00. Enter the WIP Clearing Account. Now click on Edit Cost Element button. Ignore all the warning messages. Enter the Validity Periods and Category.
