how does two ERP systems of two different release communicate each other?

i have a query regarding the communication method between two ERP Systems of different releases.

for example ECC6.0 and ECC4.7, how do i do the integration to make the communication happen?

Hi,

You can use RFC for communication any version of SAP.

This is good and easy.

The communication will happen with the help of RFC protocol.

You have to maintain rfc between the two systems.

thanks for your response. yes RFC is something which makes it happen finally at the detailed level but what is the method that we follow? is it ALE or EDI?

It is ALE for SAP to SAP.

If is legacy non sap system then EDI.
