Basis Carrier

Hi Team,

I am Kumar working as a Software Test Engineer. I am interested to change my profile and work as Basis consultant. Please some one tell me whether i am eligible to become an SAP Basis consultant. If so then what are the pre-requistes required to start a carrier in Basis and how many days will it be required to learn the same??

Also, tell me how is the really market for a SAP Basis consultant.
