Hi Experts,

We have configured remote JAVA Debugging in eclipse and SMP Server is maintained in HEC. We could able to trigger breakpoints but debugging process is very slow and it is taking approximately 2-3 Min to jump into next line.

Kindly let us know if there is any alternative to make JAVA debugging run faster.

Thanks in advance.

Swathi.

Hi All,

We are facing a similar issue. Debugging JAVA code is slow when SMP3.0 sever is maintained on HEC.We could able to trigger a breakpoint but the control is taking minimum 2-3 Min to jump into next line and we don't have access to SMP Server or server folders on HEC.We have access to only the Cockpit for performing deployment and verifying the log files

Kindly suggest.Thanks in advance.

Hi Experts,

We have increased JVM parameters to improve JAVA debug performance and restarted SMP server on HEC.

The remote server is running with Java debugging enabled and we can see eclipse connected to the running instance in the Debug perspective. We have set breakpoints and tried to debug but the breakpoints are not triggering.

Kindly suggest. Thanks in advance.

Sravanthi.

Have you considered using a local SMP development server to speed up teh debugging and then deploying to HEC for integration testing and user acceptance?

Hi Swathi,

Is your eclipse installed where the SMP server is running. If not, could you try

install the eclipse where the SMP server is running?

Also reference this KBA 2609838 if you are running later version of Agentry Editor.

Hi Chung,

Thanks for your response.

We are using Eclipse SDK Version 4.2.2 with Agentry Editor plugin 70.14.7.7 .We have configured remote JAVA debugging by providing the address of SMP server that is maintained in HEC and we don't have access to HEC environment. We have only access to SMP Management cockpit.JAVA debugging is taking 2-3 Min to jump into the next line. Please suggest.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the reply.

Increase in JVM Parameter values has improved debug performance a bit.

However, the suggestion of maintaining local SMP server and deploying the same application into HEC seems to be more feasible to improve debug performance.

Hi Chung,

We are also facing a similar issue when debugging JAVA code when SMP server is maintained on HEC.We do not have the possibility of installing Eclipse where the SMP server is maintained as we don't have access to that environment. Eclipse is maintained remotely and we have configured remote debugging for JAVA.Requesting your suggestion to speed up JAVA debugging.

Thanks in advance.
