Old material Number at plant level

Hi,

Can anybody please help me identify how to load old material numbers at plant level. We have many old material numbers at plant level so we cannot have it at basic data level.

Please let me know the options.

In this case you have to add custom field in the MARC level and then use it but in this case there will be no search criteria for this custom field.

what purpose exaclty you need the ole mateial number at plant level?

hi,

Adding one more field at MARC is an option butthat would be a development and we want to search on that field also.

I would like searchable field to upload old material number at plant level for the users to always have a map to old material no with new sap material number.

Is there any other option.

You are contradicting your own query

means if you need the user to enter the old material number and SAP will replace with new number than use basic data old material number

one side you are saying this is maitained in the legacy system as plant specific but when you create new material in the SAP it is client level

so even though you have diff old mateial in your legacy but in the SAP there will be only one material number for all the plant

better solution is educate the user to use one old material number and than SAP will take care,

The Old Material Number (MARA-bismt) is not a Plant Specific field, it is part of the Basic Data. This field would be the same for all Plant Locations.
