LO extractor modification - transport to Production?

Former Member

Our project has gone live in production & setup tables are filled in production system.

In production there is one issue & to solve the issue we need to enhance one LO datasource (appln 08) with custom (zz*) field & put code in CMOD exit.

Now I've following doubts ---

1. Is it necessary to delete setup tables (appln 08) before transporting this enhancement to production?

2. If no, do we require system downtime for re-init?

Hi Pallavi.

1. Yes, you have to delete the data in the Setup table.

2. Before transporting the request to Production, you have to empty SMQ1, SM13 and RSA7. Make sure that no requests are available in these queues not only for your client but also for other clients ( if exists). Finally lock the users and back ground jobs. And finally transport the request.

Hope this helps.

Sreenivas.

Setup tables are usually deleted after the initialization and data transfer to avoid duplicate records during re-init.

Have yo not deleted them?

2. If no, do we require system downtime for re-init?

downtime is required. There might be a way around if you do this:

1.Perform an init w/o data transfer on the BW side.

2.Load the setup tables

3.Pull in the data as repair full request

4.Pull in the delta.
