Hi all,

After a successful transport from BW development to QA, when trying to save a query it pops up with a message "Cannot save query due to error in transport." Can someone please help?

Hi,

In the Admin Workbench, under the Transport Connection, you will see two buttons on the toolbar that open windows needing to be maintained in regards to this problem. One button is called "Bex Request" which is where you define the change request that all saved Bex queries should be put in. The other button called "Bex Development Classes", defines the development class that the Bex Request should be put into. Once you maintain this information, the error message should go away and any changes to Bex queries should be referenced in the change request that you have created.

There is also a button "Object Changeability." The Bex request & classes were maintained, but when Object Changeability was selected, the first one was set to "Cannot be changed." Once this was changed to "Changeable" all is well and running.

Hi

I suppose you are experiencing this error in development. If so, it is most probably caused by the default BEx request which does not exist. A default Bex request is required in order to create/save any development query work.

If this is the probglem, create the default Bex as follows:

- enter transaction RSA1 in your development system

- Select Transport Connection

- Select the BEx button (Truck icon)

- In the BEx Transport Requests dialogue, select Assign / Delete Button

- In the New Transport Request for BEx dialogue, Select Create Request icon

- Enter u201CDefault BExu201D as the short description and select Save

If it does not resolve your problem - please elaborate a bit further: In which system do you get the error? What is the exact error message?

Hi,

After transporting Query from DEV to QA, if have you made any changes to the Query in DEV then you have to save with new Req in DEV and transport again.

But what is the need of saving when it is transported. Check the warnings in the transport log. Again check if you have authorization to save in QA

Again if you mean it in dev, it will save but will promt for a request. Here you can create a new request and assign it to that or save as local object and collect it later to a transportable request and transpot.
