Changing Actual Goods Issue Date in the shipment

Hello. I am an SAP analyst trainee and I have a question concerning posting goods issue from the shipment. When I press shipment completion the GI is being posted with current date. Is it possible to control this date somewhere in the shipment? Or it can be done only on delivery level??

I will appreciate your help.

Actual GI Date is available in Delivery, on the first Tab Page. It is recommended to maintain the Actual GI date here, as even after Shipment, it is required to revisit to do PGI.

Thank you for your help. It seems like there is no standard way to control GI posting date from the shipment.

Hi,

The GI date is controlled through shipment creation screen where you can change the date as per your wish if you dont want the system generated date.

Thank you for your response but could you please explain me where in the shipment creation screen I can put this date because I was checking and I could not find this field.

Hello Sylvia,

Go to VT01N and once you click the first button Planning and on the left hand side you will get the default date which system generatesthat you can change.If still any issues do let me know.

I tried this field but unfortunately the system doesn't pick it up to the GI. The GI posting date is still current...I also tried the other dates from this tab but they are not being picked up either.

Maybe some user exit has to be activated for that?
