ECC-CRM integration

Hi experts,

We are connecting an old CRM with a old ECC. They have different customer databases. Many customers are equal in both system.

There is any way to map these customers to integrate the systems, CRM and ECC?

Thank you and sorry for my english.

Regards.

Thank you,

Where can I find documentation on this issue?

which would be the best way to do it? the best option would be to have two separate databases? or it is possible to merge the two databases?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Miguel,

First of all business has to decide the system of record for business partner (customer) master data - ECC or CRM? CRM database is having more fields to capture the detailed information of the business partner compare to ECC. SAP recommands to use CRM as systems of record for business partner.

Data (Master & Transactional) between ECC<>CRM is synchronize via middleware. If you are loading the data for the first time - you have to perform initial load (Master Data) and delta loads (Transactional Data) periodically.

ECC<>CRM business partner data needs to be in synch (same - via middleware), if you want to use ECC fucntionality - such as delivery or billing processes.

There are simple/complex steps needs to be carried out (t-code: PIDE) to map the ECC Customer with CRM Business Partners via middleware. Number rannges needs to be maintained properly.

Please find the following links (CRM 4.0), that will help you to understand business partner in depth :
