Hi
what is the diffrence between
1. make to order
2.make to stock
3. engineer to order
pl explain
Hi,
Make to stock:
Without having any sale order /purchase orders from the customer, products/Materials will be manufactured and keep as stock in plants, warehouses, depots etc.,
when ever receives orders from the customers and will delivery the goods to customers.
Make to Order:
In this scenario, only manufacuture/produce goods after getting the Order from the customer.will not keep the stock in the plant or warehouse.
Engineer to order
Engineer to order scenario is quite similar to Make to order scenario, only diff. is that in MTO . prod.order is created with respect to sales order,
In engineer to order scenario production order is created with respect to WBS element, In WBS element there are network & actvities, One WBS cancontain more than one material.
After confirmation of production order this stock is stored as Special Stock for the Specific WBS element
