what is the exact difference between cetral adapter engine,and de-central adapter engine

Hi veni,

XI will work as long as you properly control the mix of larger/bulk messages with these requiring more immediate throughput. We implemented a de-central adapter engine to allow the bulk messages to queue on the de-central AE, while the more time-sensitive messages go through central AE running on IS.

when you setup and XI system you need at least ABAP system and a JAVA system. This first installation with the JAVA setup will act as the central adapter engine.

If you then decide to add more systems to increase the power, you can add ABAP only, JAVA only, or both. All added JAVA stacks will act as decentral adapter engine.
