Order BOM_Variant Configuration

Dear Experts,

Sale order has been created for a finished product and when try to configure the product sing CU51 , the system displays the error message " Error updating bill of material ( See log SLG1 ) . And for some items which is already configured using CU51 when trying to see the components in CS63 the system issuing the message Order BOM does not exist for this sale order item/usage appearing.Anything went wrong during configuration of the BOM ? Any authorization problems ? Please suggest.

can you tell me what is the error log in SLG1?

BOM will be created during sales order and you can mainatin in CU51 and display in CU52.

Dear Rajesh,

In the SLG1 transaction for CU51 it displays some components are flagged for deletion . Is it the reason it is not displaying the entire BOM of the header material ?

I have checked some other orders , and for other orders I am able to see the order BOM in CS63. For all items for which order BOM is not coming in CS63 the schedule line items are marked as CN and also some components are deleted .What may be the reasons?

Hi,

It may be due to some components are flagged for deletion.

Pls create new bom try the same and come back.

Dear Experts,

Thanks for your valuable inputs.

The problem is that we have copied the existing material and BOM from other plant and put deletion flag for some BOM components which are not actually required in our plant and this cause the problem.Thats why the system gave the error message while configuring and fixing the BOM using CU51.
