How to send notification via email

As we know, there is one step type "Sent Mail" in the workflow builder. However, the notification can only be sent to business workplace. Any one knows how to let sap automatically send the notificatfion to both business workplace and email box of the user.

Use the User ID and then mail will be sent to the email of the user in user master record.

Hi JL,

apart from SCOT, for notification you might require to run the report RSWUWFML2 in background. This purely depends on the WF definition that you have developed, else using email address you can send a notification thru WF builder.

Just a minor correction for notification you don't need RSWUWFML2, it is intended for WI.

In your case, just maintaining the email address is not going to push the email outside SAP, you need set the auto forwarding settings either from the inbox or from SO36.

If the SAP User Id is maintained with a valid email address in SU01d transaction and everything is properly configured in SCOT then you will receive mail on both Workplace and email inbox provided you are using SAP User Id as an agent assignment.

Do you mean, if the email address is filled in the user profile, and scot is able to send email, Then, the notification can be sent to both automatically.

See SCOT is t-code not table. What mail is configured in SCOT the mails will be routed to that domain only. Configuration of SCOT is carried out by BASIS ppl.
