Hi,
One of my coleague deleted a universe unknowingly. Fortunately I am having local copy and I pasted that in file store and able to retrieve that.(small process). But the reports that were built on that universe are not working as the object ID is pointing to old universe not teh retrieved universe. Is there any way to retrieve those reports also. I am having filestore backup but not CMS database backup. If I am having CMS database backup i can tetrieve. But its not there.Nearly 100 reports are created on this universe. Please help me.
For a few reports, you can change the universe the report points to by going to Edit Query, switch to the Properties tab, change the Universe the report points too.
I can't think of a way to do this en masse for a lot of reports.

to let those reports working you have to re export the universe again.
you just made a copy and paste of a system file which the system doesnt know anything about it know.
you need a "unv" file not "unw" file
open this "unv" file with designer, and be sure that the universe name has the same old universe name
and then export it to the repository
that should make your reports working fine..
if you wanna know all the reports based on this universe you can do it from the Audit database only if you had your audit servers enabled before.
good luck with this hard issue

Hi Amr,
I restored the universe in this way.
I created a dummy universe with the same universe connection and exported it to repository. After that i replaced the dummy universe .unv file in the filestore with my local copy of old universe and renamed the name of old universe to dummy universe in the filestore. then I imported to my designer and renamed the universe with old universe name. The universe started working. Now my issue is how to restore the reports.
Thanks
Satya
