difference between custom controller and component controller

I am a beginner in CRM SAP .

Please can anyone tell me whats the difference between custom controller and component controller with some scenario.

I am totally baffled.

Hi,

As per my knowledge...there is no separate component controller in IC web...

All the applications are components by themself...

We have custom controllers and view controllers...

The only difference is their life span accross the application...
