LogOn & LogOff button in Analysis for Office

In following thread it was mentioned that LogOff button would be foreseen from version 2.3.

Also it was mentioned that LogOff should behave like closing connection and that you should be prompted for a BI system again.

<< LogOff should really behave like closing/opening the Excel workbook, i.e. you should be prompted for a BI system again.

However: logoff is not like in Bex analyzer where you can assign a new system to the query afterwards - this is handled by the system remapping functionality.

By the way, the long awaited and frequently requested logoff-button has made it into release 2.3 ... >>

We are currently on version 2.6.1 and there is still no LogOff button.

Also when using the LogOff functionality via Components tab or VBA, we are not prompted for a BI system again.

Refesh All functionality does reconnect to the system, but only if connection has not been lost.

Our users tend to run around from meeting to meeting and they frequently loose connection. At this point Refresh All is not able to reconnect as 'system connection parameter' has been lost. Users need to completely close Analysis for Office and reopen.

In these cases it would be helpfull to have a LogOn button that forces a prompt for a BI system.

Hi Bart - SAP says this idea is "delivered" - "Alexander Peter: as of AO 1.4 SP13 or AO 2.0 SP3 or AO 2.1, you can change the connection from/to local and BIP connections. Thanks for this idea ! Best, Alex"

I am not a programmer/developer, but in theory I think you could develop a custom ribbon (possibly) to handle this. Otherwise I recommend voting for this idea:

Hi Tammy,

Thank you for your answer. The 'delivered' idea is likely the 'Replace System' functionality within the Components tab of the Design Panel.

If connection to the BI Platform is lost this 'Replace System' functionality does not work.
If connection is lost I can connect to NW systems, but not to BI platforms.
