GRC-AC5.2 : How to apply Java components' SP

Hi,

Could anyone tell me how to apply support packages of Java components on GRC-AC 5.2 CC/AE/FF/RE?

They are applied with Visual Admin, JSPM or another tool?

I downloaded Java and ABAP SP, and finished applying GRC-AC ABAP components which are VIRSANH and VIRSAHR to the latest with SPAM.

regards,

Katsumi

Hi, Frank

Thank you for your infomation.

I checked and applid these XML files in SP files from WEB frontend with admin user.

AE_init_append_data.xml

AE_init_append_data_CC.xml

AE_init_append_data_ForRE.xml

AE_init_clean_and_insert_data.xml

RE_init_append_data.xml

RE_init_clean_insert_data.xml

RE_init_methodology_data.xml

This time GRC-AC system is our demonstration sysytem, and I didin't need to care on data so much in applying SP files.

But in customers' product sysytem, SP files like "clean and insert" could be trouble.

What does this file cleans? I want to know what, if you know.

Katsumi

Hi,

you need to apply the AE* files in Compliant User Provisioning, and the RE* files in Enterprise Role Management.

The "clean and insert" files only affect product related configuration, no user configuration will be affected.

I was hesitant as well, thus had this conformed by development. This will go into future support pack notes as well.

The statement I got was (SAP Note 1022271):

"XML files are recommended to be uploaded with every upgrade as there might be some updates in configuration parameters. There is no risk in doing that but if miss to upload XML files that may cause some issue as there may be new parameters added or modified. Clean and Insert removes the data and recreates it would not cause any harm and it is always recommended to take backup of database before doing upgrade or any major changes."

Frank.

Hello Katsumi,

Please follow note no. 1128727 Guide to install GRC Access Control Support Packages.

You can use SDM to deploy java support package.

Please make sure you re-apply the so-called "initial" XML files after each service pack, even if they're called "clean and insert". They are also an important part of the support pack, although this is not yet mentioned in the upgrade notes (but it will be).

Hi Katsumi,

You can do it either through:

1. SDM or

2. JSPM

Difference: If you want to upgrade SP of each component, then SDM is used. On the other hand, if you want to upgrade SP of more that one component, the user JSPM

Should any query be answered, kindly revert back.

Thanks and Regards,
