new asset class not showing in the list (AS01)

Dear Experts,

I have created a new asset class through the following configuration (IMG):

- FA - Asset Accounting - Organization Structure-Asset Class-Specify Account Determination

- Financial accounting --> Asset accounting --> Organizational Structure --> Asset Class --> Define asset classes

- Financial accounting --> Asset accounting --> Organizational Structure --> Integration with G/L --> Assign G/L account

When I would like to create a new asset through AS01 and want to choose the new asset class, there was not a new asset class I've configured before.

Am I miss a step when creating the asset class then?

Please advice.

I had this issue on a sandbox system and for me It was a bug. I knew I had done all the set up in Asset Accounting. What I did was to Manually type in the Asset Class in AS01 and Press Enter(Even though it wasn't showing up in the drop down). The system immediately validated the data.

I left the screen, returned again and checked the drop down. and the system picked all 10 asset classes and was fine.

Hi,

The possible reason why the asset class is not appearing in as01 is that i would have been locked for a dep area.

Pls go the AM05 and see that for ur Chart of depri, the asset class that r reuired r not locked. If v tick the lock button, the asset class willnot appear in the drop down of asset class while creating asset through as01

Hi Kristen,

When you say, all you have done and AM05 is also fine, just check following:

whehter you have assigned proper dep area to the asset class

whether for that asset class, you need to assign forms,(OAAY)

any validation or set which need to be maintained in your customized set up.

where does this transaction AM02 exist? ERP system claims there is no such transaction

Thanks for all advice and attention.

My problem already solved.

I checked through AM03 and this message appear : "chart of depreciation xxx does not exist in asset class 13".

I have maintained it through AM02 and it's works.

Hi Putri,

Company code is assigned to Chart of Depreciation.

Just want to make sure that you go to t-code : OAPL first and then input your Chart of Depr.

Afterwards you can go to t-code : OAYZ and activate the depreciation area for your asset class.

All you have done is already ok. So just make sure that you work in the right Chart of Depreciation when you do the OAYZ.
