Hi Dharani,

you only need the BI Document Repository if you want to migrate documents, stored in your BI Backend, into KM. One reason for this and a motivation for this can be, if you want to search through portal for these documents. You can access the documents in the BI Backend by transaction "rsa1" and then "documents". The documents are divided into three classes: Infoprovider, Metadata and Master Data. Documents of class Infoprovider are normally comments or documents based on key figures. That's I think the most used document class.

The BI Metadata Repository is only used, if you defined metadata in your BI Backend and want to migrate them into KM. This can be InfoCubes, Queries etc. This case I have never done, so I can't provide you with useful information about how to implement this.

Hi Denis,

Thank you so much for the valuable input.

Can you please tell me which way is best in terms of performance and other views to integrate BI with portal.

Using BEX webapplication iview,

or Using Boardcosting or

Using Appintegrator

Thanks in Advance,

Hi Dharani,

that's dependent of what you want to display in the portal.

If you want to display any reports, you can build an application with your Web Application Designer und integrate it into the portal.

The BEx iView will show any report results.

Integrating documents is done by a BI Document Repository.

With Broadcasting or Application Integrator I have never tried accessing BI.

Best regards,

Denis

Hi Dharani,

unfortunately I'm not involved with the Web Application Designer. Maybe you will find more information in the BI Forums.

Best regards,

Denis
