Type S_ITEM

Dear Colleagues,

I want to enhance a smartforms initialisation. The field is defined with TYPE S_ITEM. If I debug it, the field, defined as above type, has other elements than S_ITEM in SE11. Which element do I have to take for SE11 to define an append structure for S_ITEM to see the the new append structure in debugging for S_ITEM ?

Thanks a lot and kind regards

Peter

In the global definitions of the smartforms, is there a local S_ITEM type definition in tab Types?

    • It should be obvious that those are not related, the ddic data element (single field 10 characters) is in no way related to the structure you work with in the form, could you answer to my first question?

Raymond has already provided enough information and asked to check the definitions in the form.

Sorry but this is not a very complex question. There are only a few places where a variable could be defined in the Smartform. This is one of the basic concepts of working with the forms and I'm afraid you'll have a great difficulty "enhancing" the form without understanding how it works. There are many Smartform tutorials available online, just search in Google.
