How to model a drip campaign within Hybris Marketing

Hi everyone,

We are currently struggling with the setup of a drip campaign in Hybris Marketing 1709SP01.

The idea is the following. Let's say there are 3 phases/campaigns.

In phase/campaign 1 the initial dynamic target group receives either an SMS or an Email. The separation is achieved by setting live target groups as a filter at the SMS/Email action (Each member of the initial TG can be identified in segmentation by the email/sms outbound IA).

In phase/campaign 2 the initial dynamic target group shall comprise members that passed through campaign/phase 1. Members fulfilling certain criteria shall receive e.g. an Email (with follow up email and time passed without interaction - see sap note 2604178). Others move directly on to phase/campaign 3. The filter criteria are applied through a live target group as a filter on the Email action (so not all members of the initial TG will have an IA like email outbound created).

In phase 3 the initial dynamic target group shall comprise members that passed through campaign/phase 2. Members fulfilling certain criteria shall receive another email.

The requirement is that each member of the initial dynamic target group drips through each phase by phase.

The problem we are facing now is with the initial dynamic target group of phase 3. How would you make sure that it contains not just the members of campaign 2 that were part of a campaign action (filter for outbound email IA with campaign code for campaign 2) but also the members which were dripping through the phase/campaign 2 without any interaction?

Currently, the only idea we are haying is the creation of a custom action. We would use this custom action in phase/campaign 2 to “mark” all initial members with a custom IA, so that we can identify them later in the segmentation for the target group of phase/campaign 3.

Your input, ideas, and suggestions are highly appreciated.

Regards Christopher.

Hi Christopher,

If I understand correctly, in Phase 3 you would like have all contacts that were part of Phase 1 (because that's essentially everybody that received campaign 2 and the ones that dripped through from campaign 1), right?

If that's what you would like to achieve, then simply build a segmentation attribute that contains the campaign ID of the interactions (CUAND_CE_IC_RT.INITIATIVE_ID), and use it to filter on the campaign ID of campaign 1. You can then add any other criteria. This works because for every campaign executed, for every contact contained an interaction will be created that contains the Hybris Marketing Campaign ID.

Please tell me if that's going into the right direction.

Hi Christopher,

In your solution when you mention Campaign 1/2/3 do you mean you will have 3 different campaigns or is it just 1 campaign with 3 email actions as part of the follow up emails as mentioned in the note 2604178.

If latter then we will not be having any target groups for email action 2 and 3 as Target Group is assigned to Campaign itself and then the subsequent email actions only work on as a follow up action based on user interaction.

Thanks

Hi Vineet,

each phase is actually more comprehensive then described here. As a matter of fact, one phase might result into more then one campaign in the system. So each phase would represent its own campaign in YMKT.

Hi Christopher,

Thanks for the details, the requirement seems a little more complex as to what you have described.

I would need little more details on what you are trying to achieve, as of now I would also follow the same solution which you have already described as your preferred approach or create custom interaction type and read them during each phase. Would be glad to help if you can provide more details on the requirement even offline 🙂

Thanks
