Can file adapter pick .TEXT extension file instead of .txt

Former Member

Hi all,

I have a flat file from an ABAP extract in the NFS location with extension abcd.TEXT, and file adapter is not picking it. Can it pick up with .TEXT extension or should it be .txt?

Thanks,

Srini

AIX, and the file is on the R/3 side (AL11)

it should be on XI AL11 not on R/3.

But, is it not possible to pick from R/3 side thats where they are placing the file and asking XI to pick it up.

While using NFS mode you can only pick the file from XI server dir not from the R/3 dir.

Hi

If u r using NFS protocol , folder should be XI System accesible , XI cannot pick the file from the folder of u r Backendf System.

Ask u r Basis team to make that Backend System folder XI System accesible permisions.

then it would work.

Name is same and I'm doing it in Test mode, all my CC are fine. But, even if I do in test mode it still should pick up and give mapping errors.

Check your source directory carefully since it is case sensitive. Are you using AL11 directory then check the dir authorization also. Or try to put the file in some other dir and then try.

Ya using AL11 directory and all the authorizations are there, I can access the file. File name is also correct even the path is correct.

Flat file to IDOC, I'm just checking weather it will pick up or not even I have mapping errors (because I did'nt give FCC parameters). But, its not picking up the file.
