SAP PCO 15.1.5.3194 ​-- arbitrary Error/Warning BadTypeMismatch or Tag Not Found

We're trying to collect data from Kepware, namely STRINGS of 36 characters. During the query process we fill in the TagNames and Aliases for the set of tags to retrieve.

Unfortunately PCo returns BadTypeMismatch / Tag Not Found messages in the log and no data is transferred. Since querying process is transparent (no subscription items with type) what do we do wrong?

The Tag Not found message is arbitrary and depends on the order of tags being queried.

I.e. If I have 5 strings to collect, first two are passed OK, with the last three I have the Tag Not Found or Bad Type Mismatch messages. If I change the tags order, some of the data still comes through for the tags placed first in sequence, the errors are still displayed for the last ones.

Is this a known issue with known remedies?

Update :

Still happening .. The agent cache mode is "Access to Data Source Only", however PCo still caches something (including data types). It looks like the string data type tags get a Mismatch error most of the time and a Tag Not Found depending on the position in the tagList retrieve query.
